Introduction:
If you're looking for an elegant yet simple dish for a special dinner, these Asparagus Rolls are perfect. The combination of fresh asparagus, ham, and a creamy Hollandaise sauce will impress your guests.
Ingredients:
- 500 g white asparagus
- 8 slices cooked ham
- 8 slices Emmental cheese
- 1 package WELA Gourmet 'Small Can' Hollandaise Sauce Paste
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt
- Sugar
- Lemon juice
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Peel the asparagus thoroughly and trim the woody ends.
- Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, one teaspoon of sugar, and a splash of lemon juice. Bring the water to a boil and add the asparagus. Cook for about 8-12 minutes until the asparagus is tender but still has a bit of bite.
- While the asparagus is cooking, prepare the Hollandaise sauce. Heat 250 ml of water in a pot, add the WELA Gourmet 'Small Can' Hollandaise Sauce Paste, and stir well until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
- Place a slice of cooked ham flat on a plate, add a slice of cheese on top, and place 2-3 asparagus spears at the bottom end of the ham slice. Roll the ham with the cheese and asparagus into a roulade and secure with a toothpick.
- Repeat the process for all the roulades.
- Heat the butter in a large pan and fry the roulades on all sides until the ham is slightly crispy and the cheese begins to melt.
- Serve the asparagus roulades on a plate and generously pour the Hollandaise sauce over them. Garnish with fresh parsley.
